Mental work is one of the highest forms of work. It takes all your energy, focus and emotions in other to fix any issue. As an author, our work is mental work and that can be exasperating sometimes.

When you are faced with a deadline, emotions flow and you find yourself under tension, anxiety and depression. Depression is very bad. It has lead to suicidal attempts. These must be dealt with if not, one might run made as a result of this psychological disorder.

Drink enough water

The brain is like a fluid like substance but has thickness. It is mouldy in nature and needs constant water to remain moist.

Dehydration is very dangerous to the health of anyone. For an author to be dehydrated is to reduce him to the barest minimum. You need to always start hydrated to remain fit for the work.

Most time we authors can sit on a spot for six (6) hours working. We need to be drinking at least a class of water every one hour. This will help to increase the moisture content of the brain so that information can be trapped faster. The more water you drink the smarter your brain becomes.

According to water expert, Greg Richards, taking enough water as an author increases your concentration level, eliminates dizziness, headache and mood swing. It is advisable that you drink at least 2.5 litres of water daily.
